Hardware park Rs 120 crore Hardware park coming up in Hyderabad.

Shamshabad about 40 Kms from Hyderabad is soon going to have a model estate for hardware manufacturers and Silicon Chips in a sprawling 10,000 -acre land. The Andhra Pradesh State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd(APIIC) ,a state enterprise has been asked to design and develop the park on par with the International standards.

APIIC will facilitate and enable the provision of basic infrastructure ,and will extend its invaluable learning's chronicled while establishing more than 270 industrial estates and software parks with private sector participation. Among APIC's outstanding ventures are the Hi-Tech City ,Indian institute of Information Technology(IIIT) .

The initial investment for the project is estimated to be around 120 crore and the government has plans to invite IT giants to this model estate, where all the required state-of -the -art facilities will be developed.

The main objective of the park is to support the software operations in the country and attract MNC's and other IT giants to strengthen the country's status in the Information technology.

Incidentally, Catalysts Solutions Ltd and Team Asia have recently come to Hyderabad and expressed their interest to take 200 acres each at a cost of Rs 3 lakh per acre in the park.

The Land allotment to Hardware park has been done to setup a manufacturing & R&D base for INTEL, AMD, ZEN TECHNOLOGIES and many more reputed Semi-Conductor MNCs.

Few highlights of this Project are: à SEMINDIA / FAB CITY: The Hindu - February 10th, 2006 and Deccan Chronicle March 30th, 2006. Hyderabad beat other contenders such as Bangalore and Chennai to bag the mandate for locating India’s first semi-conductor wafer fabrication plant to be setup by SemIndia Inc. licensed from U.S based chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Inc., with an investment of around $3 Billion. SemIndia will also setup an assembly, test, mark, packing (ATMP) facility close to the Fab unit. The SemIndia plant is expected to come up on 1,200 Acres at Srinagar which is close to the upcoming Hyderabad International Airport at Shamshabad.

Several states, including Karnataka and Tamil Naidu were trying to compete with each other to grab the Fab City Project; but Hyderabad has made it to success Ø NANOTECH PARK: At an area of 1100 Acres, a Korean firm viz., Intellect Inc. with an estimated investment of 1 Billion U.S Dollars has already laid the foundation of the Company’s presence. The manufacturing would commence form this place approximately around October, 2007. This would provide a direct employment to around 20,000 skilled personnel. Its Phase II is anticipated to be completed by 2010, thereby creating a job pool of around 100,000 people.
